So let’s start with the most basic facts about me:
My name is Fabian Semrau, I grew up in Krefeld, Germany a town near the border of Netherlands.
Through the influence of my parents and their friends who were also artists I started to practice arts and craft when I was still a little boy.
After I graduated High School, I began to study architecture in Cologne, Germany.
Meanwhile I was seeking for new adventures in tattooing in 2017 and started to work for a Tattoo Shop in Osnabrueck, Germany.
After practicing as a tattoo artist for some time, I decided to quit my entire base in Germany to search for new inspirations.
Luckily, I got the chance to work for several big-name Tattoo artists all over the world.
I was traveling together with my adorable daughter and wonderful wife who are supporting me on every step of this exciting journey.
After my return to Germany, I fulfilled my dream and opened my own tattoo shop, VACUO Studio.
What about my work?
I work only in black and grey because in my opinion these kinds of tattoos are truly timeless. My tattoos and paintings are characterized by a mixture of surrealism, geometrics and quite often the influence of architecture.
One of the most challenging and at the same time most fun parts of my job is to transfer a client’s feelings wish into a visualization.
But art is art and that’s the beautiful point. So finally it means whatever it means to you.
Therefore I strongly believe that a tattoo shouldn’t result out of a trend! It should be an individual expression of your feelings.
